KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit ended higher against the US dollar today, on mild buying support for the local note following weaker US economic data, a dealer said.
At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.5655/5685 against the greenback compared with 3.5790/5830 on Friday.
The dealer said US business investment decreased in March, indicating that the economy was still having a rough time to rebound, however this had lifted most emerging Asian currencies.
The ringgit was quoted mostly higher against other major currencies.
It strengthened against the Singapore dollar to 2.6748/6774 from Friday's 2.6767/6811 and rose against the British pound to 5.3999/4063 from 5.4193/4268 previously.
The local unit edged up against the yen to 2.9914/9947 from 2.9947/9986 on Friday, and was firmer against the euro to 3.8629/8668 from 3.8954/9008 previously. – Bernama
