Relocation of SK Taman Sungai Besi students, teachers postponed to May 11

    KUALA LUMPUR: The relocation of students and teachers of Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Sungai Besi Indah, Seri Kembangan to a new temporary premises after the school building suffered damage, has been postponed to May 11.
    In a statement issued here today, the Education Ministry said all the 1,287 students and 78 teachers, as well as school staff were supposed to move to the new premises at the Balakong Industrial Area in Seri Kembangan tomorrow.
    It said the decision to extend the relocation date was to enable the school's facilities in the temporary premises to be fully ready for the benefit and safety of the teachers and students.
    "The decision was also made after the ministry held discussions with the Parent-Teacher Association of the school. The ministry also places priority on the students' welfare and the parents' concern for them," it said.
    The ministry said the decision would also give enough time for the school to start its session in physically comfortable and conducive conditions. – Bernama
