Julie’s eyes 100 countries in 5 years

    KUALA LUMPUR: Perfect Food Manufacturing (M) Sdn Bhd, the manufacturer of Julie's biscuits, plans to grow its exports to 100 countries with revenue of RM500 million by 2020.
    Its director Martin Ang said Julie's is present in 70 countries today, including in Asean, East Asia, Middle East and the Asia Pacific region.
    "We're now currently at RM280 million (revenue) and every year we're growing at 12% to 15%. This year we're looking at an 18% growth, targeting RM330 million. We're confident of achieving RM500 million in five years," he told a press conference on the Expanding into the Global Market programme by the Malaysia External Trade Deveopment Corp (Matrade) here recently.
    \Ang said the company is looking at new markets in the Latin America, Russia, Europe and African region. Julie's revenue for overseas market is expected to increase to 55% within two years, from 45% currently.
    Founded in 1981, Julie's is a household Malaysian brand. It has three factories in Malacca.
    In the past five years, Julie's has been actively participating in international exhibitions organised by Matrade, which helps elevate Julie's brand exposure into the international market.
    Julie's were handpicked by American chocolate brand Hershey's for an international collaboration, producing six variants of the Julie's Hershey's biscuits. Launched in October 2014, Julie's Hershey's biscuits are distributed in 10 Asean countries as well as Taiwan and Mongolia.
