KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia Bhd today signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with 20 local public universities to enable their 650,000 staff members and students to travel more affordably and conveniently under the AirAsia "Waran Perjalanan Udara Awam" (WPUA) programme.
In a statement, the low-cost carrier said the special scheme, for members of government agencies and statutory bodies including public universities, would allow them to travel and perform their duties to the public efficiently without excessive costs.
AirAsia said it has the widest domestic network, connecting not just both Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah and Sarawak, but also destinations within Sabah and Sarawak, easing travel plans for students and staff of the public universities.
The WPUA scheme offers flexible flight bookings and changes, complimentary baggage allocation of up to 40 kg, in-flight meals, seat selection, waived service counter fees, and insurance coverage under the Tune Insurance AirAsia Travel Protection Plan.
