KENNY Rogers Roasters (KRR) celebrated the opening of its 100th store in Malaysia with the start of a campaign called KRR Frenzy. After running for 100 days, it recently came to a close, ending with one lucky winner driving home a brand new Mazda 2 Skyactiv!
“At KRR, we appreciate the continuous support from our guests and the recent opening of our 100th KRR restaurant at IOI City Mall is a testament to how we have grown over the past 20 years. This indeed calls for a celebration, which we thought, how else to reward our guests than to organise a fun and interactive activity through our mobile game app,” said Berjaya Roasters (M) Sdn Bhd group executive director Datuk Francis Lee.
The contest required participants to spend a minimum of just RM60 in a single receipt at any KRR restaurant. Customers were then given one “Roasters Agent” code to register in at the end of each game. Players’ adrenaline ran wild playing the interactive “Roasters Frenzy” game app. It required participants to “catch” a minimum of 10 chickens within 30 seconds to win one of the many exciting prizes.
Prizes included exclusive three day/two-night stays at Berjaya Langkawi Resort worth RM6,000, Klipsch Airplay speakers, Canon IXUS cameras and the latest mobile gadgets among others.
Contestants were allowed to submit as many entries for a shot at becoming one of the finalists to win the grand prize.
All the excitement led to the 100th day, the end of the campaign, which culminated with the lucky finalists having to compete for the grand prize through a series of nerve-wracking challenges.
At the final showdown, finalists went through gruelling tasks besides having to pop balloons to find the “Frenzy Chicken” inside. The final and most eventful phase got everyone on their toes, as the three remaining finalists were offered three car keys to choose from, with only one opening the door of the grand prize.
The winner, Mohammad Fadhli Yaakub, 32, said, “I did not expect to win the ultimate prize as I was the last person and did not have a choice to pick a key. However, when I attempted to unlock the car, my emotions ran wild and it was indeed a huge surprise to hear the car alarm go off!”Alarmed, excited, not complaining and totally thrilled was Mohammad Fadhli to drive home in his new Mazda 2 Skyactiv.
