BEIJING: More than 1,000 wind chimes were stolen from an park in eastern China, prompting the organisers to call off a wind chime festival, a news report said Thursday.
Almost all of the chimes hung from trees in Xiandu Park near Lishui in Zhejiang province disappeared in the first six days of the month-long festival, leading subsequent visitors to complain, the Qianjiang Wanbao reported.
Guests had climbed into the trees to steal the chimes or used long sticks to unhook them, the report said. – dpa
