Perak govt proposes board to oversee housing needs

IPOH: The Perak government is proposing a housing board to oversee all its housing needs.
The proposed board will oversee housing construction, policies and projects.
Currently the job is done by the Housing and Local Government division under the supervision of the state secretary office.
Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said: "We have decided to set up a housing board."
He said this after launching two affordable housing schemes - D Aman Residensi and Casa Kayangan in Meru Raya today.
Zambry also urged Federal housing agencies like Syarikat Perumahan Negaral Berhad and Perbadanan Program Perumahaan 1Malaysia (PR1MA) to implement housing projects in the state.
"It is my vision to see every individual owns a house," he added.
The state's target is to built 10,000 units by 2018.
