PETALING JAYA: Honda Malaysia today announced a recall of 87,182 units of Honda vehicles to replace driver and passenger airbag inflators with newly produced inflators.
The recall covers City (2003-2008), Civic (2003-2008), CR-V (2002-2007), Jazz (2004-2006) and Stream (2004-2005) models.
In a statement released yesterday, Honda said the recall does not affect its current selling models and no crashes or injuries related to airbag inflator issues have been reported in Malaysia.
Honda Malaysia will be informing all customers involved via notification letters which will
include details of the product update.
Customers who receive these letters are advised to send their vehicles to the nearest authorized Honda dealer for inspection.
Honda Malaysia will bear the spare parts and labour costs involved with the replacement work.
Vehicle owners can also check their vehicle's product update status by calling Honda's Toll Free number 1-800-88-2020 or visit any authorized Honda dealer.
