CMF calls all churches to render aid to Rohingya migrants

    PETALING JAYA: The Christian Federation of Malaysia (CMF) is calling on all churches in Malaysia to render help and support to aid agencies which are mobilising to alleviate the suffering of Rohingya migrant boat people.
    In a press statement today, CFM chairman Dr Eu Hong Seng said: “We urge the fullest efforts and co-operation among nations and international agencies to assist and to provide humanitarian aid swiftly to the affected people."
    CMF welcomes the statement by the governments of Indonesia and Malaysia that they will provide humanitarian assistance to the Rohingya and Bangladeshi migrants trapped on the high seas and that they will be offered temporary shelter on shore pending clarification and confirmation of their refugee status.
