KANGAR: Malaysia welcomes Turkey's efforts to help the Rohingya refugees, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim.
He said more nations should emulate Turkey and that the move by the Turkish government had helped lighten the burden on Malaysia and other nations to resolve the refugee problem and help Muslims who are suppressed.
Shahidan told this to reporters when met after the closing ceremony of the 2015 National Muslim Brotherhood Convention here today. The event was closed by Raja Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail.
Shahidan added that border patrols must be tightened to ensure no refugees enter in Malaysia. – Bernama
