Police detains four in connection with robbery, murder

    KUALA LUMPUR: Four men been arrested by police, believed to be linked to the death of a man who was badly injured in a robbery case at the PPR Batu Muda housing estate in Jalan Ipoh, last Friday.
    Sentul District Police Chief ACP R. Munusamy said in the 9.15pm incident, the victim was sleeping in the five-foot path in the area when three men approached and beat him.
    "The suspects who were in an Iswara Aeroback car, beat the victim with sticks, plastic chairs and threatened him with a parang.
    "The victim was injured in both hands while his left ear was sheared. The suspects took a Nokia handphone, the identity card and cash of RM50 from the victim," he said in a statement here.
    Munusamy said the victim, aged 39, who was unemployed, was then sent by passers-by to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital in an ambulance
    "The next day, after receiving treatment at the hospital, at about 7.30am the victim went to meet his mother at a newspaper stall she owned near the Casa Idaman Condominium, Jinjang but collapsed and died at 8.05am," he said.
    Following the incident, police detained a man, aged 32, and seized a Wira Aeroback car with a false number plate.
    As a result of investigations, three other men, aged between 18 and 31, were detained.
    "One of the suspects has a record for causing injury to others under Section 324 of the Penal Code, and all have been remanded and are being investigated under Section 302 for murder," he said. – Bernama
