PETALING JAYA: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar warned today that foreign activists reputed to organise rallies and anti-government campaigns in their respective countries will be denied entry into Malaysia.
Commenting of Hong Kong’s student activist Joshua Wong who was refused entry into Penang on Tuesday, he said the 18-year-old teenager was not welcome in Malaysia as he was known to organise illegal rallies, demonstrations and anti-government talks.
“We will not accept undesirable people into the country.
"We know Joshua Wong holds talks opposing the governments of other countries such as China.
"Hence, we do not want such people to disrupt public order in our country. People like this do not need to come. I also warn other foreigners not to cause any sort of unrest and anxiety for Malaysians by inciting our people to hold demonstrations.
“It is best to also chase such people out of our country.
"We do not need such people here. Our affairs are our business and for us to manage, not foreigners. He (Wong) can give any excuse or argument (of wanting to be here), but we don’t want him,” said Khalid today after a function at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) here in conjunction of the 208th Police Day anniversary.
Wong, who had traveled to Malaysia to attend a youth forum at Komtar was held up on arrival at the Penang International Airport on Tuesday before being ordered to return to Hong Kong.
The teenager who earned infamous fame for leading student protests and organising several large demonstrations was also to speak at several forums here, Penang, Perak and Johor.
