Chopper crash lands in Kota Kinabalu, pilot suffers light injuries

KOTA KINABALU: A 21-year-old female helicopter pilot is believed to have suffered light injuries after she crash landed at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport here about noon.
It is learnt that the pilot , believed to be on a solo training flight, managed to crawl out of the Bell Ranger 206 helicopter which belonged to Layang-Layang Aerospace.
The chopper later caught fire.
The victim, who was reported to be in stable condition with minor injuries to her legs was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
There was no closure following the incident and the international airport was operating as normal.
The fire was later extinguished by the airport Fire and Rescue Unit.
