Pangkor-Lumut Sea Festival 2015 promotes Perak's tourism industry

    LUMUT: The Pangkor-Lumut Sea Festival is one of Perak's tourism products capable of attracting domestic and international tourists, Perak Arts and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi said today.
    She said the annual event always received encouraging response, which was in line with the state's objective of promoting and strengthening the tourism sector.
    "The festival is one of Perak's 'signature' event held every mid year and is a high-impact tourism programme, especially in boosting the economy of local residents," she said when opening the festival at Dataran Putra last night.
    The Perak government, she said, welcomed the hosting of such an event as a medium to promote the state and place it on the world tourism map.
    Also present were Manjung Municipal Council president Datuk Zamri Man and Pasir Panjang Assemblyman Datuk Rashidi Ibrahim.
    The four-day Pangkor-Lumut Sea Festival 2015 is an annual event organised by Manjung Municipal Council and Perak Tourism.
    Besides games, like beach sport and telematch, there will also be karaoke contest and ice-carving demonstration, as well as food fair and exhibition by government agencies, like the Royal Malaysian Navy, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency and Tourism Malaysia. – Bernama
