Melati Ehsan’s associate bags RM600m hospital project

    PETALING JAYA: Melati Ehsan Holdings Bhd's 49%-owned associate, B.H.O. Melati Sdn Bhd, has bagged a 30-year concession to develop Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Teaching Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and carry out the asset management services.
    It told Bursa Malaysia yesterday that the construction of the facilities and infrastructure would cost RM652.98 million.
    The asset management services, which covers the asset replacement programme and maintenance services, would start on UMS's issuance of the certificate of acceptance on the facilities and infrastructure.
    B.H.O. Melati, which is owned 51% by B.H.O. Sdn Bhd, entered into a concession agreement with the government, represented by the Education Ministry and UMS yesterday.
    The construction is expected to be completed within three years from the construction commencement date.
    The agreement is conditional upon B.H.O. Melati having obtained a written notice from the government confirming that it has fulfilled the conditions precedent within nine months or any extended period granted.
