Sand-laden truck causes accident involving 24 other vehicles

KUALA LUMPUR: A 30-tonne truck laden with sand crashed into 24 other vehicles after its driver lost control of his vehicle at Jalan Jelatek today.
The incident which took place about 5.35pm today was believed to have happened due to the driver of the lorry to lose control of the vehicle before it rammed into the other vehicles.
It also caused a massive traffic jam from Jalan Ampang to Jalan Jelatek as it was traffic peak hour.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police investigation and traffic law officer DSP S. Markandan said the lorry was heading to KL from Karak.
"Some 24 cars were damaged in this incident.
"There was no casualties or severe injuries reported," he said.
He added traffic officers are conducting investigation on the incident and the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
