KUALA LUMPUR: The government is not planning to increase the price of low-cost housing under the PR1MA Corporation Malaysia (PR1MA) scheme.
Minister in the Prime Minister Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said the house prices under PR1MA will remain in the range of RM100,000 to RM400,000 per unit.
"Price of a unit will depend based on its type and location," he told the Dewan Rakyat today.
Shahidan was responding to a question by Sim Tze Tzin (Bayan Baru - PKR) who had asked the government to state the rationale of the ceiling price of PR1MA houses to be increased to RM450,000.
Shahidan said negotiations and discussions are being held from time to time with developers to ensure the price of houses did not exceed the maximum limit.
"The government also took into consideration the middle income group in the country," he said.
