GEORGE TOWN: The Penang DAP headquarters was splashed with red paint in the second act of vandalism against the premises since Saturday.

Northeast district police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said the incident happened about 10.50pm on Sunday at Jalan Rangoon here.

He said close circuit television (CCTV) recordings showed two men on a motorcycle throwing the paint unto the roller doors of Wisma DAP.

"The case is being investigated for committing mischief under the Penal Code," he said in a brief statement and declined to speculate whether earlier incidents were linked.

The incident is the latest one in a series of attacks against DAP offices in Penang since Saturday.

The beginning of the weekend saw the service centre of Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng being splashed with black
paint with Wisma DAP suffering the same fate.

On Sunday, the service centre of Local Government Committee chairman and Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow was damaged after a man set a door on fire.

Chow is scheduled to hold a press conference about the matter later today with Mior also doing the same.
