Johor police seize firearms

JOHOR BARU: Police seized two firearms in Kluang and Batu Pahat recently.
Johor Police Chief SC Datuk Rusli Ahmad said Batu Pahat police seized a pistol when inspecting a car at Jalan Kluang at about 4.15am on June 24, 2015.
He said police also found eight bullets and a small quantity of drugs inside the car.
During a press conference at the Johor contingent police headquarters here today, Rusli said a 36-year-old man and 24-year-old woman who were in the car were detained for investigations.
He said in the second incident which occurred in Kluang, police seized one revolver with 11 bullets on June 22, 2015.
Rusli said two men aged 53 and 69 respectively were detained to assist in investigations.
He said one of the suspects is a wanted person linked to a murder case in Kampong Gajah, Kluang in 1986.
Rusli said both cases will be investigated under Section 8(a) and Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.
