Factory operator held for alleged murder of brother

    KUALA LANGAT: A 27-year-old factory operator was taken into custody after he allegedly killed his elder brother with a nine-inch kitchen knife during a heated argument over the latter's refusal to fast during Ramadan.
    In the incident which occurred at about 6.30pm on Wednesday at their home in Jalan Orkid Batu 8, Sijangkang, the suspect who is the youngest among four siblings, confronted his 30-year-old elder brother, an unemployed.
    Kuala Langat District Police chief Supt Zailan Tasir said the deceased suffered a wound on his right neck and succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.
    He said after being slashed on the neck, the victim sought help from a friend in the village.
    According to sources, a medical attendant at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital informed police about the case.
    "At 7:40pm, the police arrived at the scene, the suspect remained calm in his room and led the police team to find the evidence behind the shelve,” Zailan told reporters during a press conference at IPD Kuala Langat in Banting.
    “The suspect has no criminal records. However, during the scuffle there were no witnesses at the scene,” he added.
    The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
