KOTA BARU: The health of the allegedly abused five-year-old girl continues to show positive development.

"The girl talked about wanting to eat, going sight seeing and wanting to meet with her cousins.

"She still cannot eat following the intestinal surgery yesterday," her aunt told reporters when met at Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZII) Hospital today.

She thanked the hospital for helping to make the girl healthy and hopes that her health will return to normal.

Asked about the arrest of two suspects, she said. "I do not want to interfere and leave it to the authorities to act against her abusers," she added.
The girl's mother reported to the police after finding her daughter with multiple body injuries including broken ribs.

The girl is now placed in HRPZII for treatment and is under the custody of the Social Welfare Department.

The girl's father and stepmother were remanded by police for four days since yesterday for further investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 31 (1) of the Child Act 2001. – Bernama
