MMC denies approaching KWAP for its stake in NCB

    PETALING JAYA: MMC Corp Bhd has clarified that it had not approached Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP) to acquire the latter's interest in NCB Holdings Bhd, as reported in a business weekly.
    Currently MMC and KWAP owns a 21.05% and 9.18% stake in NCB respectively. Amanahraya Trustee Bhd, meanwhile, is the largest shareholder of NCB, with 47.7% equity interest.
    Meanwhile, NCB announced the resignation of Tan Sri Wan Abdul Rahman Haji Wan Yaacob as director and chairman of its wholly-owned subsidiary Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (NMB), effective July 1. Datuk Idris Kechot has been re-designated as chairman of NMB.
