GELANG PATAH: Police have arrested four suspects in connection with a break-in at a church in Taman Mutiara Rini on Sunday.
Nusajaya police district chief Supt Nor Hashim Mohamed said the four suspects were arrested soon after the incident at about 1am.
He said the suspects cut the lock on the gate to gain entry into the church which is located at Jalan Mutiara 1/9, Taman Mutiara Rini in Nusajaya.
"They carted away most of the valuables in the church, such as the air-conditioner units, curtains, cables, light bulbs, chairs and drove away in a lorry," he said during a press conference at the Gelang Patah police station.
He said police rushed to the scene following a tip-off and managed to nab one suspect on the spot while the other three were arrested within a few hours.
Nor Hashim said the suspects aged between 38 to 51 years-old have been remanded to facilitate investigations.
He also urged the public not to spread rumours on the motive of the break-in.
"I believe this could be an insider's job, likely due to an internal dispute," he said.
