Don't hinge Malaysia's future on allegations: Vell Paari

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians should ask themselves whether they are willing to risk the country's future based on allegations by foreign media, the opposition and former senior leaders, said an MIC leader.
In this connection, MIC Communications and Public Relations Bureau head Datuk Seri S. Vell Paari took a swipe at those who called for Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak to step down every time an allegation was made against the prime minister.
"My only question to those who have been making these allegations against Datuk Seri Najib is that, is there a single shred of evidence to prove either any fraudulent or criminal act by Datuk Seri Najib?
"The answer is no," he said in a statement today.
Vell Paari pointed out that the invasion of Iraq and the toppling of President Saddam Hussein was brought about by allegations concerning the production of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) by the then Iraqi leader.

"Can those discrediting Datuk Seri Najib based on the allegations of The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) educate me whether any trace of WMD was ever found in Iraq? ... educate me on the current state of life the people of Iraq are enduring daily?" he said.
"What did this foreign media do in Iraq to guarantee a good quality of life for the people in Iraq?" he questioned.
The WSJ has alleged that funds had been transferred into accounts under the name of the prime minister.
Najib, in his response yesterday, said, he had never taken funds for personal gain and that the false allegations were part of a concerted campaign of political sabotage to topple him. – Bernama
