PETALING JAYA: Is a cure for dengue available currently?
According to consultant pharmacist and naturopath Prof Dr Ananthan Krishnan, there is and he claims patients to his health centre have been cured withing 24 to 72 hours.
“Although the natural products that make up Natural Remedy have been approved as individual products by the National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau (NPCB) and the Health Ministry and have been in the Malaysian market since 2005, not many people are aware of its existence let alone its efficacy in reducing the mortality rate caused by dengue,” Ananthan said in a recent interview with theSun.
He added that the only people who knew about the efficacy of the remedy are those who seek treatment for dengue fever at his centre.
Ananthan said he has written to the ministry and the Institute of Medical Research (IMR) seeking their endorsement for this medicine so that the product can be use in treating all the new dengue patients in hospitals and clinics with the aim of avoiding more deaths.
“However, the only reply we got from the ministry was that they will try to endorse the product while IMR informed us that they do not have the expertise to test the effectiveness of the product,” he said.
“The said Natural Remedy consists of ‘Highly-Active Micro-Nutrients’ made from food-based edible seeds and spices which have been consumed by humans for thousands of years, hence, they are completely safe for human consumption with a significantly large margin of therapeutic safety,” he said explaining the content of the cure.
“Like any other infectious viral disease, dengue fever sets in when the immunological defence system weakens, gives way or breaks down which subsequently allows the virus to penetrate, replicate and do considerable damage to the body.
“Ultimately, the state of immunity is the major determinant in the appearance of dengue fever in the human body instead of trying to kill the Aedes mosquitoes or the virus which can mutate and evolve from its original form or strain,” he said.
Therefore, he said, any potential cure from the health authorities in tackling the dengue issue should focus on the host (human) instead of the mosquitoes or the virus.
