SHAH ALAM: House break-ins and motorcycle thefts top the crime activities here, said Shah Alam police chief ACP Shafien Mamat.
As such, he added police personnel nationwide have set up a "Balik Kampung Safety programme" to curb crimes from happening during the Hari Raya festive season.
"House owners heading out of town and leaving their house vacant are advised to fill up the 'Balik Kampung Information Form' and submit to the nearest police station.
"We will then file the information based on the forms and scrutinise which area to do mobile patrolling," he told reporters during a press conference at Shah Alam police headquarters yesterday.
"Police patrols will be conducted to ensure the safety of the vacant houses during the festive season," he added.
Shafien said the forms can be downloaded at the police website or obtained from the nearest police station.
