Police operations in store for persistent illegal gambling

    KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur police are looking forward to form and execute more operations to combat illegal gambling activities in city.
    City police chief, Datuk Tajudin Md Isa said city police department will monitor the situation and necessary actions will be taken by police on illegal gambling activities under their jurisdiction.
    "We will conduct random checks on the closed illegal gambling premises to ensure that our officers have done their tasks.
    "If we find that the businesses are still running, we will recommend responsible authorities to cut the electricity and water supply," Tajudin said after attending the Celcom and KL traffic police Iftar fast break celebrations.
    Meanwhile he also revealed that "Ops Selamat" will be launching soon as a way to reduce the number of traffic accidents and crime throughout the Hari Raya celebrations.
    "The operation will be launched on July 10-25, aiming to reduce the number of traffic accidents in Kuala Lumpur," he added.
    According to Tajudin, city police contingent has enough police task force teams to take part in the operation and full focus will given in order to achieve it's objectives.
