Navy chief urges for more proactive actions to be taken in the wake of MT Orkim Harmony incident

    KUALA LUMPUR: Navy chief Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar today urged the National Security Council (NSC) to take proactive actions on the MT Orkim Harmony issue.
    "I am following the developments which is reported by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).
    "I think that the NSC should have integrated plans to ensure the incident will not recur," said Abdul Aziz during the breaking of fast event at KD Sri Gombak, Jalan Padang Tembak here today.
    He added that the enforcement and security agencies should work together in order to prevent such incidents.
    Abdul Aziz said that about 5,000 navy personnel will be working during this Hari Raya.
    "About eight vessels will be patroling our waters for 24-hours in seven operations," said Abdul Aziz.
