Recognising young Indian entrepreneurs

THE Malaysian Indian Entrepreneur Cooperative (MIEC) will be organising the 10th edition of the Young Indian Entrepreneur Award 2015 (YIEA 2015) on July 11. The event will be held at the Grand Mahkota Ballroom, Istana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. According to MIEC and organising committee chairman Madhu Marimuthu (pix), the who’s who of the community involved in business are expected to attend.
Since the launch of the event by the Youth and Sports Deputy Minister Datuk M. Saravanan on April 2, nominees have been shortlisted and interviewed by the awards committee headed by Brickfields Asia College (BAC) adviser Raja Singham. Others in the committee include representatives of business associations like KLSSICCI, NSIE, 1MINE, MIEC and SeNeT.
There will be three awards which will be presented by the International Trade and Industry Ministry Secretary General Tan Sri Dr Rebecca Sta Maria.
Industry excellence will also be recognised with individuals awarded in their chosen fields, such as telecommunication services, healthcare services, education and training, transportation and others.
As per the previous years, the Life Achievement Award, Community Service Award, Journalism Excellence Award, Special Recognition Award and Music Excellence Award will also be bestowed to respective individuals.
The Young Indian Entrepreneur Award 2015 is a partnership between MIEC and Brickfields Asia College, along with the Special Secretariat for Empowerment of Indian Entrepreneurs (SEED), Elabaram Sdn Bhd, Grant Thornton, Nippon Paints, Bank Rakyat, NLFCS and RIS Learning Sdn Bhd.
