Strong earthquake rattles Santa Cruz Islands

KUALA LUMPUR: A strong earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale hit Santa Cruz Islands, in the Pacific Ocean at 10.27am Malaysian time.
The Malaysian Meteorogical Department in a statement issued here today said the quake's epicentre was 110km northwest of Lata, Solomon Islands and 5,396km Southest of Semporna, Sabah The quake did not pose any tsunami threat, it said. – Bernama
