SHAH ALAM: Dommal Food Services Sdn Bhd, the master franchise holder of Domino's Pizza in Malaysia, is confident of double-digit growth in revenue this year with its store expansion plans.
Its senior manager of marketing Linda Hassan said the company has enjoyed double-digit growth in the past few years but observed that business was growing at a single-digit pace in the first half of this year due to the challenging economic landscape.
"We're positive that in the second half of the year, we'll grow at a double-digit rate.
"This year, we expect to open 25 stores and we've already opened 10 stores. To date, we have 135 stores," she told reporters after launching the new cheese burst crusts flavours here last Friday, adding that on average, the company allocates about RM500,000 to open a store.
Linda said the company continues to provide value and great deals for its customers and is seeing significant growth in terms of number of customers.
"We didn't increase our price upon the Goods and Services Tax implementation while some of our items have reduced in price. By giving the confidence to customers, we've enjoyed positive customer growth. Even though they're spending lesser, there is more volume," explained Linda.
She said Domino's specialises in the pizza delivery market and has over 50% market share. Up to 70% of its sales are from delivery.
"Not many other players specialise in this and we're positive that within the delivery market, we'll be number one," added Linda.
