KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia remains an attractive place for investments despite the outflow of funds, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar.
"We have a number of initiatives to grow our exports so that we can continue to maintain our trade surplus and current account surplus as well. We will continue to focus on our fundamentals and it is important for got everyone to play their respective roles," he told reporters at the sidelines of the signing ceremony between Destini Bhd and AirAsia Bhd.
He declined to comment on the 1Malaysia Development Bhd issue except to say that investigations are ongoing and the parties involved should be allowed to carry out their duties without fear or favour.
One of the investigations is being carried out by the Public Accounts Committee while the other is done by a task force comprising Bank Negara Malaysia, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, Auditor General and the police.
"For the rest of us, it is important to remain focused on the task at hand. On my part, I will work with ministers to execute the 11MP," he said.
