KOTA BARU: The Kelantan Health Department has spent RM27 million out of the RM75 million allocated to it for repairing health infrastructure that were damaged in the floods in the state last December.

Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 36.7% of the damaged infrastructure had been repaired.

"We expect the process to be completed by the end of the year or by early next year," he told reporters after opening the Kelantan International Health Conference here today.

At the event, Noor Hisham also launched a book titled Buku Bah Kuning 2014 which is a collection of stories of how the department's staff faced the flood disaster, the worst in the state's history.

He added that the Health Ministry had identified several sites to build 10 new clinics to replace those that were damaged beyond repair in the disaster.

The clinics are Klinik Desa (KD) Sokor and KD Kusial Baharu in Tanah Merah; KD Limau Kasturi and KD Star in Gua Musang; KD Karangan, KD Keroh, KD Peria, KD Laloh and KD Bahagia in Kuala Krai and KD Pasir Pekan in Tumpat. – Bernama
