KUALA NERUS: PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang today hit out at DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng for alleging that his views leaned towards Umno, which he said was not true, after Hadi declined to comment on the prime minister's cabinet reshuffle.
Hadi argued that it was too early for PAS to opine on the new cabinet line-up announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak on Tuesday.
"I have no inclinaton towards anyone but to good decisions for the people. I lean towards those who can solve the people's problems, whoever they are. That's my inclination.
"I shall wait first. I cannot comment too early. I have also been following the statements made by DAP leaders. They used to attack (former prime minister) Tun Dr Mahathir (Mohamad), but now they are praising him. I am consistent in my views."
Hadi said this to reporters after opening the Ihtifal Ma'ahad Tahfiz Wal Tarbiyyah Darul Iman at Batu Enam, here.
Hadi said DAP's hypocrisy and propensity for provocation was not a new thing to PAS.
Meanwhile, he warned all the party's elected representatives and leaders not to attend the series of roadshow organised by its splinter group, Gerakan Harapan Baharu (GHB), as participating in this could be detrimental to PAS.
He said PAS was monitoring this development and if its lawmakers and leaders were found to be involved in the programme, it would not hesitate to refer them to the party's disciplinary board.
"Today, we had made a statement, telling PAS parliamentarians and leaders not to participate in the roadshow.
"At the same time, we are awaiting a full report from the states on our members' involvement in GHB."
Hadi was referring to the action of GHB, led by former PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu, who is now busy travelling the country to promote GHB and tomorrow is Terengganu's turn for the roadshow to be held, in Besut.
The Marang member of Parliament urged those concerned to understand the situation and to abide by the party's wishes, or risk facing action from the party. – Bernama
