AMPANG: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) admits it would be an uphill battle for the upcoming 14th General Election.
However, Selangor's state leadership secretary Borhan Aman Shah told theSun today that PKR still has its own political machinery, arrangement of parliamentary seats and the political will to succeed.
Commenting on the matter, he said, "For instance, we still have good relations (with our counterparts) like the assemblymen in Selangor who have given full support to the Mentri Besar."
He also expressed concern that there may be a six-corner seat like in Kajang which occurred during the 13th General Election, which will pave the way for Barisan Nasional's victory.
Therefore, he said, there must be a study to overcome this potential danger for the Opposition to succeed.
He was speaking at PKR's AidulFitri open house on Friday.
On the newly-formed NGO Gerakan Harapan Baru, he said that although PKR welcomes all in order to topple the ruling coalition, however, it is still up to the top leadership to decide on the pact.
He said Mohamed Azmin Ali, who is also PKR's deputy president, is a cautious man and would not easily allow the division within the party itself.
He added that PKR intends to target the youths in both the rural and urban areas.
Calling some of these youths as "silent protesters" who have been venting their dissatisfaction through the social media, he said PKR has been monitoring them for some time.
