Ahmad Zahid: Three individuals brought in to help investigate info leak on 1MDB

KUALA LUMPUR: Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pix) clarified that the three high profile individuals were not arrested but merely 'brought in by the police' to facilitate how information on the 1MDB investigations was leaked to news portals and social media.
He said police had brought these individuals for questioning on how the information from the 1MDB probe had been leaked to whistle blower site Sarawak Report and the social media.
"The police wants to determine if the information was leaked from the Attorney-General's Chambers, Bank Negara Malaysia and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
"Even if the leak comes from the police themselves, action will be taken," he told reporters after officiating the Umno Kepong ‎division delegates meeting here.
Ahmad Zahid noted that no information should be leaked from any government agencies with the intention of tarnishing the image of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak
"Police, in this case, have been carrying out their duties professionally," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar was reported saying that three Individuals – former MACC advisory board member Tan Sri Rashpal Singh, AG Chambers finance and anti-money laundering secretariat member Jessica Gurmeet Kaur and MACC deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Sazilee Abdul Khairi had their statements recorded ‎on Saturday in regards to Sarawak Report's report which contain defamatory elements.
He noted that these three individuals were ‎'brought in' following police reports against Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown.
