IPOH: Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said the reshuffle of the state executive council (Exco) was to enhance the state line-up.
"It's not a major reshuffle. We have revised the portfolios to suit the state exco members' strengths," he said after chairing a meeting of the Perak Agriculture Development Corporation, here, today.
Zambry said women exco members Datuk Rusnah Kassim and Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi were given bigger responsibilities. Datuk Rusnah's portfolio was revised to Women and Family Development and Social Welfare, Housing and Local Government.
The housing and local government portfolio was previously held by Datuk Saarani Mohamad (Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture, Information and Human Development).
"Datuk Nolee Ashilin will also be in charge of Communications and Multimedia. This shows the state government practises inclusivity and is not gender biased," Zambry said.
Nolee Ashilin's portfolio was revised to Tourism, Arts and Culture, Communications and Multimedia. Zambry, who holds the Finance, Security, Land, Natural Resources and Economy portfolio, also handed over the Islamic portfolio to another exco member.
Datuk Mohd Nizar Zakaria got the Islam, Islamic Education and Personality Development portfolio. The Entrepreneur and Cooperative portfolio previously under Mohd Nizar, was given to Datuk Samsudin Abu Hassan (Consumerism, Entrepreneur Development, Cooperatives, NGOs and Civil Society).
The reshuffle also involved Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya (Human Resources, Youth and Sports) who let go of Communications and Multimedia to Nolee Ashilin. – Bernama
