PETALING JAYA: CIMB Group Holdings Bhd has announced the resignation of CIMB Bank CEO Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir, with effect from Nov 22, 2015.
He will be on gardening leave with immediate effect. This marks the second top management member leaving the company in less than two months after CIMB Islamic Bank CEO Badlisyah Abdul Ghani resigned effective Aug 15 due to his Facebook posting on an article in The Wall Street Journal.
In a statement last Friday, CIMB said it has begun a search for a successor and, in the interim, group CFO Shahnaz Jammal has been appointed person-in-charge of CIMB Bank.

"We respect Datuk Sulaiman's decision to move on. Sulaiman has been instrumental in the growth of our consumer franchise and has contributed significantly to the CIMB success story. We thank him for his efforts and wish him well for the future," said CIMB Group CEO Tengku Zafrul Aziz.
