Merdeka Day special for 1,000 Latar motorists

PETALING JAYA: A total of 1,000 lucky motorists commuting through the KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (Latar) on National Day will be offered a free RM10 Touch ‘n Go card each, concessionaire KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway Berhad announced today.
The RM10,000 total worth of Touch ‘n Go cards will be given out to motorists at the cash-only lanes at all Latar toll plazas on Aug 31 from 12am.
Its chief operating officer Ahmad Fuad Ahmad Shahimi said the distribution of the free cards is aimed at encouraging more road users to shift to the full electronic toll transaction system, set to be fully implemented across all highways in Malaysia beginning next year.
“The use of Touch ‘n Go cards or SmartTAGs will definitely ease the traffic at all highways, facilitate faster transaction and avoid having long queues at the toll plazas, especially the cash lanes,” he said.
Fuad added that the programme is also part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to show its appreciation to its expressway users.
