Brickfields rally crowd in high spirits (Updated)

KUALA LUMPUR: About 500 protesters in Bersih 4.0 t-shirts have gathered at the junction of Little India in Brickfields, one of the gathering points for the rally.
Among the crowd were several NGO groups - Jaringan Kampung Orang Asli Semenanjung Malaysia (JKOASM), Pusat Komas, Community Action Network (CAN), Hindraf and Persatuan Masyarakat Selangor & Wilayah Persekutuan (PERMAS).
The crowd, which had begun to gather at 11am, were seen carrying placards and chanting "Hidup Bersih", "Hidup Rakyat" and "Bersih, Bersih".
PKR vice-president Dr Xavier Jeyakumar was also seen distributing yellow and red flowers to the crowd.
Also present was Parti Sosialis Malaysia secretary-general S. Arulchelvan who instructed the crowd on coloured flag signals - red to stop, green to go forward, blue to sit down, and black to retreat.
A JKOASM representative who addressed the crowd, said the Orang Asli were committed to fighting for a better future for themselves and all Malaysians.
Deputy Chief Minister of Penang Dr P. Ramasamy who spoke next, urged the crowd to remain united as Malaysians.
The crowd gathered here will head to Pasar Seni before proceeding to Dataran Merdeka.
