KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has made full use of the large crowd presence in front of the Sogo shopping complex to get rally goers to sign a petition for the release of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The party's secretary-general Rafizi Ramli said that getting them to sign the petition was a must, considering Anwar was a victim of a corrupt government.
"Anwar has been a political prisoner of a government that is corrupt. We cannot let this to go on," he told reporters gathered here.
The crowd at Sogo also made full use of their time to perform Zohor prayers before heading to Dataran Merdeka.
While their Muslim friends were immersed in prayer, the non-Muslim rally goers observed a moment of silence as a mark of respect.
Rafizi said the crowd would make their way to Dataran Merdeka at about 3.30pm led by "Angkatan Muda Keadilan" and the "Skuad Keadilan".
