Bersih 4 goes global

PETALING JAYA: Bersih 4.0 went global as many Malaysians living in foreign countries showed their solidarity with fellow countrymen in Malaysia by wearing yellow T-shirts.
Malaysians gathered at particular areas or landmarks in the respective cities to show solidarity in their own way.
Among photographs which capture the attention is a picture of a diver holding the Malaysian flag underwater at Tulamben, Bali posted on Global Bersih's Twitter page.
Photographs stating the number of people who had turned up for the gathering were posted at the "Bersih Global Countdown" Facebook page as well.
The page was specially dedicated for Malaysians living in foreign countries to show their support.
Pictures posted on the webpage show participants holding placards, Malaysian flags, listening to speeches or posing with masks.
"Bersih 4 Perth" webpage also put up the "dos and don'ts" when attending the gathering at Langley Park.
Among the "don'ts", the participants were told to not engage with counter protesters.
Pictures from all parts of the world were uploaded by the participants on the Global Bersih's Twitter page.
A small group of participant posted pictures of gatherings from Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Jakarta (Indonesia), Tokyo (Japan) and in Hong Kong, opposite the Malaysian Consulate.
Another picture posted from Melbourne stated 5,000 people had gathered and showed participants carrying umbrellas and were wearing "hoodies".
