Bersih 4: A carnival-like experience

KUALA LUMPUR: The first night of the Bersih 4 rally went like an festival night carnival, painted in yellow.
Between 9pm and 12am on Saturday night, participants, mostly wearing yellow, had filled the streets leading towards Dataran Merdeka.
The group, who had gathered at various points before 10am this morning, were entertained with music performances, speeches and even stand-up comedy near Dataran Merdeka and along Jalan Tun Perak.
Food and drinks stalls mushroomed among the crowd added jazz to loud crowd of yellow who entertained by the programmes.
Some were seen resting on the side of the road as the programmes were going on.
Except for an incident where several participants were admitted for suspected food poisoning, there were no violence which occured among the people here.
Policemen and reporters were on standby to ensure no such incident occurred.
The rally is expected to continue today (Aug 30) at 6am.
