KATHMANDU: Two mild tremors were felt in Kathmandu and its adjoining districts early Sunday morning.
A tremor measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale with epicentre in Dhading, 25km west of Kathmandu shook the Nepalese capital and its adjoining western districts before dawn, according to the National Seismological Centre (NSC).
The second tremor of 4.1 magnitude with epicentre in Dolakha, about 85km east of Kathmandu, hit the area shortly after dawn, said the NSC.
The impact of the tremors were felt in Kathmandu and all its adjoining districts and some residents in Kathmandu came out of their homes when the quakes hit.
However, no fresh damaged was reported, according to Nepal Home Ministry spokesman Laxmi Prasad Dhakal.
Seismologist Lok Bijaya Adhikari of the NSC said both tremors were the aftershocks of the April 25 earthquake.
On April 25, an earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale struck Nepal, killing more than 9,000 people and damaging property worth billions in Malaysian Ringgit.
So far, 386 aftershocks of over 4 magnitude have been recorded since the devastating April 25 earthquake. – Bernama
