Factory worker succumbs to head injuries following bike crash

    BALIK PULAU: A 36-year-old factory worker died from severe head injuries after getting involved in a road accident involving another motorcycle here early morning today.
    Southwest district police chief Supt Lai Fah Hin said the deceased was identified as Sabri Ally.
    He added the victim was heading to Bayan Lepas from Balik Pulau when his motorcycle was involved in the 7.20am accident with another motorcyclist from the opposite direction.
    “The victim died on the spot,” he said in a statement.
    In a separate case, Lai said a Nepal national was found dead with a piece of cloth around his neck at a house in Batu Maung near here.
    He said police were notified by the employer about 5am today while investigations at the site revealed the deceased tied the cloth on the handrail of a staircase before hanging himself.
    He said the body of Raju Rajbanshi was sent to Balik Pulau Hospital and the cause of death was identified as hanging.
    “There were no elements of foul play,” he added.
