KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia Bhd and Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB) are expected to meet this month to discuss the low-cost carrier's RM409 million suit against the airport operator.
Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said the Transport Ministry arranged for a meeting between the two parties to discuss about AirAsia's letter of demand on MAHB for alleged breaches of its contractual duties and duty of care incurred while operating from klia2.
Fernandes, who was speaking to reporters at an event to mark the commencement of the carrier's Kuala Lumpur - Goa flights today, declined to comment on the RM7.01 million fictitious payments made by its long haul low-cost affiliate AirAsia X Bhd.
Last month, AirAsia X announced that its auditors had discovered 24 payments made between 2010 and 2014 to a service provider for "fictitious services".
