NIBONG TEBAL: For Mohd Uzair Amzar Mohd Noor Azlan, becoming a policeman had always been his dream.
And for a day at least, the five-year old lived out that dream during "Uzair's A Day as a Policeman" event organised by Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and non-governmental organisation Make A Wish Malaysia.
Mohd Uzair, from Nibong Tebal, was diagnosed with lymph gland cancer when he was four years old and has been receiving treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).
Accompanying him at the event were his father Mohd Noor Azlan Ahmad, 46, and mother Zakiah Md Yusof, 38, who were invited to the event by South Seberang Prai police headquarters.
Mohd Uzair, who was beaming with happiness during the event, was given a police-like jacket and a police beret and was escorted by the Penang police chief himself Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi in the police Helang Highway Interceptor vehicle.
Abdul Rahim said the event was to not only fulfill the child's dream but to also expose him to the life of a policeman for a day.
