PETALING JAYA: Scan Associates Bhd's executive director Mak Siew Wei, who is on the list of directors to be removed at an upcoming EGM, is suing founder and former CEO Datuk Norbik Bashah Idris and six others for allegedly breaching the listing rules.
In a filing with the stock exchange, Scan Associates said the company was also served with a writ and statement of claim under section 218 (2) of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 and Section 9 (1) of the Take-Overs and Mergers Code.
The six individuals are Yeoh Eng Kong, Woon Yong Hin, Woon Yong Teai, Woon Yong Leong, Woon Yong Hao and Hussin Othman.
To recap, Norbik Bashah and Hussin, who collectively own more than 10% stake in Scan Associates, had in July called on an EGM to remove the entire board of four members including Mak, chairman Major Ismail Ahmad, Datuk Nik Ismail Nik Yaacob and Roy George. The EGM is due on October 9.
Norbik Bashah, who resigned at the end of June, caught the market by surprise after he sought board representation again, together with Nurul Huda Zaharol Natrar, Nor Ramzani Abdul Rahim and Siti Sarah Zainal Abidin.
