KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional will handle Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman's "slap Chinese" remark.
BN Wanita chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said BN has its ways of handling the matter and it will be resolved internally.
"I believe for issues like this, not just Tajuddin's, we have ways in BN to resolve it," she said at the PPP Wanita Convention in Bandar Tun Razak today.
Asked if Tajuddin should apologise for the remark, Shahrizat said people should move on from the issue as harping on it would do more harm than good to the nation.
Earlier, at the opening of the convention, Shahrizat said women were the backbone of the political parties and that party leaders could not hope to succeed without their support.
She also said women in BN should give Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak their full support as he was a leader who genuinely cared about women and the issues they faced.
However, she also pointed out that BN was not doing enough to uplift women and that this was reflected by a predominantly male government leadership.
