Ismail to continue to lead IRDA as Chief Executive

JOHOR BARU: Datuk Ismail Ibrahim will continue to lead Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) as Chief Executive for another three years, effective Jan 1 next year.
IRDA said Co-Chairman, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak and Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, had approved and endorsed the contract renewal at the 17th IRDA Members of Authority meeting recently.
Ismail, 56, has taken stewardship of the Iskandar Malaysia authority body since Jan 1 2010 and has shown exemplary leadership, achieving major milestones for the development of the economic hub.
"Ismail's strong foundation and sound knowledge of the Iskandar Malaysia Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP), leadership and management skills have provided the enthusiasm, dynamism and passion within the organisation," Mohamed Khaled said in a statement.
"With Iskandar Malaysia embarking on its third development phase and the beginning of second CDP, it is important to ensure continuity of this momentum, towards achieving the vision of a strong and sustainable metropolis of international standing," he said. – Bernama
